Why Is Christian Cosmology Better?

In the previous section, the eternal universe claim of Secular Humanism was discussed. Is Christianity’s claim to cosmological coherency any better? For many years philosophers had believed that the universe was eternally old. They believed that the cosmos had no beginning but stretched backward through time-space in perpetuity. However, Judeo-Christian writings disagreed with this cosmological construct long before anyone had conceived of the mathematical models to prove the big bang. Although there are limits to the creationist model regarding what can be conceived and understand, a contingent universe fits much more precisely with what we know about the singularity and what existed prior. Christianity is not the only worldview that includes theistic cosmology. On this particular point, any theistic model is closer to the truth than Secular Humanism.
